Support Team Bilger in the Chosen: Marathon for Adoption

Chosen: Marathon For Adoption
Thanks to a collaborative effort between ABBA Fund, Bethesda Family Ministries & Charis Orphan Care & Adoption Ministry, a marathon to benefit adopting families will be held in New Braunfels, TX, on Saturday, October 23rd. To learn more about the race, visit: www.marathonforadoption.com .

ALL proceeds from the race, both from runner registrations and donations, will go to help orphans around the world and adoptive families offset the cost of adoption.

Here’s the best part…We have applied and been chosen to benefit from this race as an adoptive family!

Even better…Neal’s running the ½ marathon on behalf of Team Bilger!

Here’s how you can help:
1. Register by Saturday, October 16th, to run either the half or full marathon, and list Team Bilger as your team. This will ensure that the proceeds from your registration go to our adoption costs!

~OR~

2. Donate by Saturday, October 23rd, either by mail or online to Team Bilger. All donations received will go directly to our adoption costs! (and you won’t have to run!)
-Online: Go to www.bethesdafund.org to make a donation. Be sure to specify our team name, Team Bilger, after you enter amount/payment info.
-By Mail: Fill out the attached form and send it with a check made out to Bethesda Family Ministries to: Chosen: Marathon for Adoption, P.O. Box 312151, New Braunfels, TX 78131
*Be sure to put in the check memo: Chosen marathon: Team Bilger

If you have any questions about it, let us know. Feel free to share it with anyone else you think might be interested. Thanks so much for your support!
Love,
Kim and Neal

How Our Adoption Journey Began...

After some researching and attending info meetings at several adoption agencies, we went to an informational meeting for Gladney Center for Adoption in Ft. Worth in January 2009. We had heard great things about them from others who had adopted through them, and we found it all to be true!

Then we started on the binder of paperwork that had to be completed before anything could happen. It's definitely more than you would expect, but after a few months, we finally had it ready to go. In March 2009, we mailed it off!

We had our home study interview in Ft Worth in April 2009 and then our home visit portion of the home study in early May 2009. Then, after months of anticipation, we were officially approved in mid June 2009!!!

And now we wait...
